Common questions
How do we pair?
One of you shares the six-character code shown in the app, and the other types it under “Have their code?” and taps Connect. It works between iPhone and Android.
How do I add the widget?
iPhone: touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen, tap Edit, then Add Widget, search for Capychat and add it.
Android: touch and hold your home screen, tap Widgets, find Capychat and drag its widget onto the screen.
The widget shows your person’s latest drawing, so it fills in once you are paired and they draw.
Does my partner need to pay too?
No. One Capychat Plus subscription covers you both while you are paired.
How do I cancel Capychat Plus?
Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple or Google, so cancel them there. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. On Android, open the Google Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
Deleting the app or your Capychat account does not cancel a subscription.
I changed phones. How do I get Plus back?
Open Us, then Settings, then Get Capychat Plus, and tap Restore purchases. Restore brings back the Plus subscription. Yuzu bundles are used up as you spend them, so they are not restored; the yuzus in your shared basket are kept on our server with your account.
Can I keep my room if I started as a guest?
Yes. In Settings, under Save your account, sign in with Apple or Google where it is offered. Your partner, drawings and Plus move to that account, so you can sign in again on a new phone. If you sign out of a guest account or delete the app, there is no way to sign back into it.
Someone shared a photo I didn’t want to see.
Open the photo and tap Report photo. It is hidden for you right away and sent to us for review. If you ever feel unsafe, you can unpair at any time in Settings, and you can always write to us at hello@halfwind.studio.
How do I unpair?
Open Us, then Settings, and tap Unpair. You both lose your shared room and your widgets stop updating. You can pair with someone again with a new code.
How do I delete my account?
Open Us, then Settings, and tap Delete account. If you can’t use the app, you can ask us to delete it by email. See Delete your account.
